Dreamboat mailing list posting guidance

The Dreamboat mailing list exists to provide a space for discussion of the band Heart, Heart-related news, and the experiences of fans that would be of interest to numerous other fans.

As a space for such discussion, we welcome constructive postings which fit within the guidelines below.

Any of the following that would be of interest to numerous other Heartmongers :-
  • Discussion about Heart, the Lovemongers and related bands
  • Discussion about past, current and future bandmembers
  • Discussion about Heartmongers
  • Links to information (web pages, pictures, sound files, video, etc.) relating to the above
    • Quoting a previous message helps you to put your own thoughts into context. Out of politeness to everyone else, we request that you edit such quotes to a sensible minimum. It will only cost you a few minutes but it makes the posting (and the list) much more valuable for everyone.

    If you subscribe to a digest version of the list, please be sure to edit the subject line of your replies (something more meaningful than "Re: Dreamboat digest, Vol 7 #92 - 614 msgs" for example). Please also be extra sure not to append the entirety of the digest to which you are replying (some email programs will).

    There are three main topics that often cause passionate and wandering discussion :-
  • Politics, Religion and Sex
    We don't have a moratorium on any of these three topics, but we do ask you to be extremely careful when discussing them. There is a fair diversity of opinion on all three and when you press someone's "hot buttons" it can sometimes get very ugly.

    Remember... Heart/Lovemongers fans are intelligent, thoughtful people who respect the views of others, and are more than capable of carrying on a discussion without upsetting anyone. We don't expect to have any problems with abuse ("flaming") or offensive language, which would be contrary to the spirit of the music.

    The list administrators do have the power to revoke the posting rights of anyone failing to adhere to these principles.

    • Please refrain from posting jokes, virus warnings or "urban legends" to the list.
    If you are intoxicated or feeling very angry, please get a good night's rest before posting to the list.
