This might interest some of you - especially in the LA area:
_________________________________________________________________________

There's a group - called "The Long Players" here. Each month, they play a
classic album live - in its entirety. The albums are usually NOT something
everyone might see otherwise - they've done a Hawkwind show, Budgie, Fairport
Convention, Leonard Cohen, Black Sabbath. Roxy Music's second album is on the
burner as is this...

This month, is Heart's great "Dreamboat Annie" on the 25th (next week) at
The Scene in Glendale! _http://www.thescenebar.com/_
(http://www.thescenebar.com/)

The band is different each time, finding those suited to the material. It's
not a "tribute", as no one pretends to be any particular person (we have
three girls in the band!). We'll probably wear some cool '70's clothes to get
everyone in the mood though. I joined just for this show - as I know and love
all the Heart records.

"Dreamboat Annie" is a really HARD record to do live; I don't think they
understood that when it was chosen. ANY Heart album after that is easier, but
what's life without a challenge, eh? I don't think it will be exceptional - we
had a little over a month to learn everything and lost a drummer halfway
through. (But it will be the BEST "Dreamboat Annie" you're likely to see this
year!) We'll do the best we can to pull it off like the record. Hopefully with
an audience of fans singing along... positive vibes do wonders on and off
stage!

For you all - it will be interesting to see songs you've probably never
expected to hear performed - like "Soul of the Sea", "Love Me Like Music", and
all the various "Dreamboat Annie" versions! Of course, Heart still play two of
them regularly (MMan, Crazy), and used to do "Sing Child" and "White
Lightning and Wine" - but it's been a LONG time - almost 30 years!!

PLEASE pass this on to any lists, Mongers, or fans who might care to go.
Each one happens only once (that's a LOT of work for one show!) so please come
out if you can...

Cheers and thanks!
Brian
