Anyhoo, here's my report.

A week or 2 back, BRAVO ran a 5-part series called GREAT THINGS
ABOUT BEING... Fat, In Your 30's, Queer, Blonde & Red State.
I have all 5 shows.  There were 2 Ann mentions:

Supersized singers excel in all genres, whether it's R&B talents like
B. B. King, Chaka Khan, & Luther Vandross (God rest his soul); gospel
forces like Gerald Levert, Linda Hopkins & Mahaila Jackson; rock stars 
like Meat Loaf, Mama Cass & Ann Wilson ['03 or '04 live pic]; or opera
artists like Luciano Pavorotti, Marilyn Horne & Kate Smith.

FRANK DeCARO (The Frank DeCaro Show): There's something comforting,
in a way, about a really large person with a really large voice.

<Cut to a pic of, I think, a dark-haired Ashlee Simpson> So while
the skinny girls lip-synch their way through another song, you may 
wanna tune in to someone with a little more...well, a little more.

Comedian Paul Goebel: Well, the great thing about fat singers is you 
know they didn't sleep their way to the top.  You look at a guy like 
Ruben Studdard, you think, 'I know he didn't bang anybody to get
where he is' - you know, HE wasn't going out with Paula Abdul.

In the end, you don't see Pavorotti rolling around in spandex and
pasties to get attention.  Not that we wouldn't be totally into that.

Just after #3 - You Are Hilarious (mostly John Belushi & Chris Farley)

Gaining a little weight is a great way to prove you're off the drugs.
Let's hear it for clean, sober & healthy chubby celebs.

Rock & Rollers Ann Wilson (w/LQueen pic), Stevie Nicks (RUMOURS-era pic)
and Vince Neil of Motley Crue (mid/late 80's pic) all gave up partying 
themselves silly backstage and are now pleasantly plump and alive to 
tell the tale.  <All shown with '03/'04 pix>

Quick note on the Blonde Show: they named various celebrities
with names ending in "Y," or, for the intellectual girls, "I,"
and I had hoped they'd show Nancy - with an olibigatory video
shot from "Alone" or "These Dreams."  No such luck, d*mn them!

One personal Heart note for me: In a rush to dry my long hair,
I started singing "Break" while towelling it dry at the same 
pace.  Got my hair done without needing my blowdryer!

Kinda silly, but just thought I'd mention it.  :-)
