Strangely, I agree with much of the "least fav's". Undoubtedly, there are
certain tracks that just don't ..what's the word...'research'? Hmm.. Well,
most of the time, I could give a poop about marketing. I just like good music.
And beauty be in the eyes (or ears) of the beholder.

Private Audition: Fast Times and America probably aren't the strongest
tracks. They have their 'moments'. But, as for album oriented rock...from a
tested and confident rock band like Heart, I have to side with Steve and Mike on
"I don't think the fans will like it'..etc.. Whatever, I'm going to go out on
a serious limb here and say something I've always felt, but was afraid to say
on the boards.. Nancy was the only one writing sensible and thoughtful music
on that album that really 'stood up and delivered'. (please don't flame me)
It should've been her project start to finish..much like Jupiter. Sorry. I
still like. I'll listen to it anyway.

Cook With Fire: I wouldn't mind hearing a studio version of this. I think
I'm just so used to hearing it. And if I didn't get to hear "Al right, for the
first time in Memphis...Heart!"'.. I would be sad. :) And maybe that's all
that really matters. It has a certain energy that's really condusive for a
live setting. I say...'why not'. Let it fly...in all it's glory.

Break: It's just rediculous! And that's why I love it. I have to
concur... I'm glad they left off Jackleg Man.

Perfect Stranger: I love the verse....can't stand the chorus arrangement.
It's a bit awkward... and way too 'over the top'.

Ambush: LOL! Sure, I'll take it.. whatever. It's my favorite album. It's
all about the mixing on this one... I almost don't care about the hokey songs.
:) I love the 'in your face' mixing. There's so much clarity on this
album. Most everything else on this album sounds like it was recording ..'in yer
bedroom'.

Will You Be There (In The Morning): Hmm.. I see what you mean. I think what
struck me was the 'country-esque' flavor and not so much the lyrical content.
Nancy voice lends well to this style. I'm not a country bumpkin by any
standards and if I had my druthers...I'd rather hear her sing, The Situation.
Mwah hah hah!! But, it was a great excuse to show off a great guitar! love that
Tele!

Ring Them Bells: Love what you said about the Lovemonger Hootenanies.
Interesting observation. Kinda makes one feel 'Privvy' when you hear songs like
these tho. Although, I find some of those songs to be quite 'marketable' (I
mean sacred). Tho, I can think of much more serious hootenany material..(IE..a
certain recording of the girls playing Hawiian songs comes to mind)....hmm...
and would you really want to hear this on an album?? Or would you rather be
'privvy'?? Exactly, you'd rather be 'privvy'. :) Having said that, when I'm
listening to the bonus tracks on Nancy's score for E-town, I feel
"privvy"...for some reason. Like "fly on the wall", or something. Sounds very 'cache'
(caught in the act).

This is a great discussion. Keep it going. It's fun. (And no party
poopers!) LOL!!

                                     Vik
