Hey Mike (and fellow Mongers!),
That is way cool...I don't think I know of very many artists that
actually take requests from the crowd! Nice that she gave the true
legendary diva's their kudos!
Seeing Heart at the same venue that Mike mentioned (and it was
WONDERFUL meeting you, Mike!!!!), was like a dream come true. I
honestly have to say that this was the best Heart show I have seen
since the very first time I saw them (which was in Maryland when Heart
toured with Kansas during their Passionworks tour). Of course that
first concert was legendary in my mind...I remember them doing Mistral
Wind which brought me to my knees! Don't tell anyone by my little self
back then snuck in a little tape recorder to try and tape the show, it
only taped the first 10 minutes and all you could hear was a little bit
of music and me screaming my head off...too funny! I knew better than
to try that one again!
This past show was wonderful because they did some incredible classics
that I have never heard live before (unless I just can't remember them
from the Passionworks tour), like Bebe Le Strange and Even It Up (which
I did hear Nancy do on her solo tour). When Nancy broke out her
mandolin and Ann broke out her flute for Love Alive, I knew I had died
and gone to Heaven!
I had read posts about them doing the Who's "Love Rain On Me" and I was
just praying they would do it. I knew one of the light techs there so I
had the privilege of seeing the set list before the show...AND THEY DID
IT! If any of you have not heard Ann do this song yet, I hope you are
in for a future treat! Her voice wailing the chorus was enough to shake
me up to the rafters and back!
The encores were not rockers, but they rocked the entire show till
then...they closed with Dreamboat Annie which of course brought tears
to my eyes...a beautiful way to end the night.
Ann's voice is still just as flawless as ever (of course!), and Nancy
turned it out as always, doing her classic high kicks and all.
A few of us stragglers that were left behind were gifted with Nancy
guitar picks...what a blessing!
Love to all of you!
Luv-n-Stuff,
Michele

A good friend of mine's husbands company built a huge Casino here in
Oklahoma
and he got free tickets to see Gretchen Wilson. Their company bought
like 200
of them. They gave me 2nd row seats, which I was greatful for. Now I'm
not a
huge Gretchen fan, but as many of you know she has played with Ann &
Nancy
several times and she has my utmost respect for being a Heart fan
herself. So I
went to her show and I know she had stated before that she has covered
Barracuda on her tour. So when the moment was right during her concert,
I yelled
out
BARRACUDA!! And she laughed and said...what do you want to hear? And I
yelled
it out again. LOL She said okay everybody it's time for some Rock &
Roll ! And
she rocked out to Barracada and after that she did Black Dog! It was
great I
thought she did an awesome job on both songs and the place went nuts.
It was a
great moment during this show. Just thought I'd share that with you
mongers
out there. have a good one and later dudes!
Mike :-)
