hello Francie...

Congrats on both the completion of your final paper and your upcoming internship! Sounds exciting for you!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad...I know a little of what you are going through, as I lost my own mom in '00, and my dad had to have surgery last week, and more surgery within the next month...I agree...it totally sucks being the adult child of ailing (or worse!) parents...I guess we can get some small consolation by knowing that we can be there for them when they need us...
In any event, I wish your dad a swift, speedy and complete recovery!

Looking forward to reading your reviews of the shows you attended...I wanted to go to the Atlantic City show, but couldn't make it...

  Peace to you!
  Michael

  Hi gang,

I haven't had the chance to do a "review" of the two Heart concerts I
attended in August - in Atlantic City and Bethlehem, PA. I've been busy
with my graduate studies - I just handed in my final paper of the quarter
today. The next quarter starts September 25th.

On a personal note, my father suffered a stroke last Thursday. Thank
goodness it was just a mild stroke which effected is language skills. But
for my sister and I, it's just a reminder that we lost mom last year and dad
isn't as young as he though he was. It really sucks to get old, and it's
even suckerer when your parents get older! It's part of life but it's one
part I don't like. Thanks for letting me vent. Dad should recover at least
95 to 99% from this but it does wake you up how precious life is when this
happens in anyone's family.

Some excellent news...I'll be starting a producer's internship with a local
TV station which is part of the national "big 4" of networks in two weeks.
I'll be working their newsroom and learing how to be a TV producer. I'm
excited about the opportunity. At the same time, I'm leaving the radio job
I had to move on. Change does get harder as you get older, but since it's
for advancement, it's for the greater good.

Heart will we coming back to New Orleans and the NEW House of Blues on
October 15th. Check the website for more info. I thought I'd pass that
along since we want to talk about HEART on the listserver....

take care....I'll have my reviews up soon!
Francie
